MFC Survival Employee in Help for Heroes Challenge

MFC Survival Product Designer, Chris Bolger, will be taking part in a 350 mile sponsored bike ride next year in aid of the charity Help for Heroes.

Chris will be undertaking the bike ride in memory of his brother Stephen, who was killed in May whilst serving in Afghanistan.

Corporal Stephen Bolger was a member of the Parachute Regiment and was attached to the Special Forces Support Group.  He was coming to the end of his tour of duty when the armoured vehicle he was travelling in struck a mine, killing Stephen and one other comrade.

Chris hopes the bike ride will be a way for him to bring something positive out of the tragedy.  "Steve was a strong supporter of Help For Heroes and he almost certainly would have benefited from their support had his injuries been less severe.  The bike ride will give me the opportunity to raise money to help this worthwhile cause, and serves as a fitting way to honour my brother".

The sponsored bike ride will take place in May next year, covering around 350 miles through the battlefields of Northern France.  Chris has set himself the fundraising target of £2,500 which he needs to raise before the bike ride takes place.  If you would like to donate, please visit Chris' Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/chris-bolger or contact Chris by email, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
