Inflatable Fire Simulator Tent The Fire Tent was developed in collaboration with the Mid & West Wales Fire Service in response to a perceived need to teach children how best to react in an emergency fire situation.
The Fire Tent is based on our inflatable emergency shelter which is powered by a BA Cylinder and can be set up in 5 five minutes. The adaptation incorporates a maze made with foam blocks and curtains. This maze is held together with Velcro allowing for a quick release should there be a panic inside the tent. The children enter the tent via a 'cat flap' and the tent is then filled with smoke. The tent's blackout liner helps to recreate as closely as possible the disorientation that would be experienced in a smoke filled room.  Use of the Fire Tent will enable the Emergency Services to take the fire message into the community more effectively than trying to explain it in the classroom.
